Outback Trail - Major Events

The Outback Trail is host to several large-scale events throughout the year.   These events are the largest contributing factor to our financial survival. All of the events below are ran by volunteers (from the event coordinator or the Outback Trail) and any additional volunteers would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or want to volunteer, please visit the Events forum in the message board on this website.

2011 EVENTS

May 30th (Memorial Day) - Trail Run Xtreme - Trail Race  -     EXCELLENT EVENT!!!!!
***Thanks to all 23 volunteers who made this a memorable event despite 3 last-minute re-routes; 3.08" of rain and 90*F Temps!
***Congrats to all 262 adult runners, 64 kids race runners, and the PorterCounty Sherrif Dept(Team Winners)

June 12th - Outback Club Fun Race and Cookout (Members only)
First annual Club Fun Race and Cookout. 10:00A Cross-Country Start. Timed Event.   All Riders ride one lap.

3 Divisions (Awards):
      Expert/Elite: ("Way-Too-Serious")
      Sport: ("A Good Workout")
      Beginner: ("Making-Room-For-Lunch")

Awards will also be given for
      * Coolest Jersey
      * Best-Looking Legs
      * Shockiest Socks

Following the race....all are treated to a family-style cookout - so bring the family whilst you re-hash your victorious ride.

August 7th - Outback Challenge - Cross Country MTB Race

September 4th - Bluhm Zoom - Time Trail MTB Race
This race is part of the Nimba Series (http://www.nimbaseries.org) Moutain Bike Race Series - race #5. Please visit their website for more information. This is a great venue for racers of *all* skill levels.
